The UAV Altimeter Radar developed by Insightica, a millimeter wave ranging radar module for UAVs, can be applied to UAV fixed height hovering and UAV ground imitation flights. With small size and light weight, the module is the smallest UAV altimeter radar module in China.
The UAV Altimeter Radar emits FM continuous waves downward to accurately measure the relative height of the ground and the UAV by measuring the frequency and phase of echoes. The radar is small enough to be integrated directly under the motor to realize the height fixing needs for UAV plant protection operations, line inspection, river inspection and other operations.
Small size, the PCBA size is only 45mm x 45mm x 6mm.

The height measurement mode, where the high-precision altimeter radar is the basis for stable flights, is the most important mode in the UAV flight control. While it takes a pilot much energy to fine-tune the throttle to ensure the lift and weight balance of the UAV, the height measurement mode realized by the altimeter radar can greatly reduce the difficulty of the pilot's operation. After the UAV enters the height measurement mode, the pilot can only control the flying direction of the UAV without balancing the lift, which greatly free the pilot and reduce the risk of bombing. In addition, with the help of the altimeter radar, UAVs can achieve fixed height hovering for better photo effects. Moreover, it helps to achieve stable ground flights and improves the applicability of UAVs in specific application scenarios, such as line inspections.
