RT18B20 is a high precision digital temperature sensor with a single bus interface and a configurable temperature resolution of 9 to 12 bits.
Each chip has a unique 64-bit code and 3 bytes of non-volatile memory. The 64-bit unique ID facilitates RT18B20 networking.
In distributed applications, multiple RT18B20s can be soldered on a single bus to work simultaneously.
One of the non-volatile memories can be configured with programming information for the upper and lower temperature alarm limits and resolution.
The chip requires almost no peripheral devices and the circuit is simple.
